Ca' d'Oro is a 14th-century patrician palace, once used to be the home of an ancient noble family since the fifteenth century.
Ca' d'Oro, hosts the art collection donated by Baron Giorgio Franchetti: the Giorgio Franchetti Gallery, named after the baron who bought the building in 1894. In this Venetian-Gothic-style house, it is possible to admire Venetian-school paintings, such as the famous "Saint Sebastian" (see picture) by Andrea Mantegna, Tuscanian and Dutch school works, wonderful small bronzes, portraits of the Renaissance and other pieces of art.
