- La Fenice Theatre
La Fenice Theatre was named after the mythical bird that is always reborn from its own ashes, the Phoenix, because just like the Phoenix, despite being destroyed by fire many times, it has always been rebuilt. In 2003 the theatre has been reopened, after being rebuilt one more time “like it was before, where it was before”. Today it is the first theatre in Venice, hosting the lyrical season, and gathering Opera lovers and personalities from all over the world.

- Malibran Theatre
In 2001, after being completely restored, Teatro Malibran has been re-opened to the public. The theatre is placed in the heart of the Venice's historical center, not far from the Rialto Bridge, Teatro Malibran is one of the most beloved theatrical halls in Venice, rich in history and tradition, and it represents a clear sign of the long-awaited rebirth of this city.

- Goldoni Theatre
Theatre Goldoni is one of the most well known theatres in Venice, and it has been its main theatre for the long time La Fenice was being restored. Born under the name of Teatro Vendramin di S. Salvador, it took the name of Teatro Apollo after being restored one first time in 1833, and went to its present name in 1875, in homage to the Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni. Nowadays it is the seat of the Stabile Theatre of Veneto, and has a varied and rich season.

- Fondamenta Nuove Theatre
Placed right at the end of Fondamenta Nuove, faced on the north lagoon of Venice, Theatre Fondamenta Nuove is characterized by a charming building, where bricks and wood live side by side, and can sit up to 200 viewers. The theatre represents a cultural model for Venice and its creative potentialities: you'll find on stage musical and cultural events, as well as conferences and workshops.

- Groggia Theatre
This theatre, recently restored, stand in the old town centre of Venice, in the district of Cannaregio, in the Sant'alvise area.

- Junghans Theatre
The Junghans Theatre, inaugurated in 2005, is the latest theatre opened in Venice. The building, which used to be a bunker where bomb fuses produced by the Junghans factory were kept, is located on the Giudecca island. With its small stage and its stalls which can seat no more than 150 people, the theatre creates an intimate artmosphere. Besides, its apsidal and steps structure makes it suitable for conferences and university lectures.

- Toniolo Theatre in Mestre
Theatre Toniolo in Mestre, after being fully restored, has re-opened to the public in December 2003, and is now the main reference point for the theatrical life in the Venice mainland. It is the home for a series of events and festival, amongst which prose, classical music, Italian music concerts, comical and amateur theatre, and dance. The theater can sit up to 800 people, and it can easily be reached with public transportations and accessed by disabled people.

- Del Parco Theatre in Mestre
Del Parco Theatre is placed in Mestre, in Parco della Bissuola, the largest city park often hosting musical and recreational events and giving a great contribution to the vivacity of city life. It can easily be reached with public transportations and there are various car parks in its vicinity; it is also fully accessible by disabled people. The theater is open in the cold season, an it the home of contemporary theater festivals, theater for kids, dance and music.

- Aurora Theatre
The Aurora Theatre, located in Marghera, can accommodate more than 300 people. It is also an art cinema and a centre for cultural activities, conferences and congresses.

- Murata Theatre ("Theatre of the Wall")
The Teatro della Murata ("Theatre of the Wall") is a small theatre, holding about 70 seats, made out of a warehouse in the old town centre of Mestre. It is so called because it is in a building clung to the remaining part of the ancient town walls. It was inaugurated in 1970.
This theatre housed both the new trends in theatre and well-known actors. It has often given local companies the opportunity to perform their plays, which could hardly have been staged in the other theatres of the city.
